Stanley Donwood is a British artist and most known for his collaborative work with Radiohead, one of my favorite bands of all time. Grunge 90’s typography is one of the most influential eras in type design for me. With this passion for chaos and color, there is a direct parallel to the band’s records. Donwood is also a writer and illlustrator, but his album work is the embodiment of my goals as a designer. My immense passion for music and yearn for increasing knowledge of music has a major impact on the work I hope to dive into. Poster design and album art are abundantly important to the performing arts industry, the designs of Donwood have solidified Radiohead’s identity through the use of typography and illustration. Thom Yorke’s appreciation for Donwood has formulated through a lifelong collaboration, as a designer, I am pushing myself to explore my aesthetics and manifest a personal style that has been shaped by my experiences and identity.
