I recently came across Es Devlin through her collaboration with architect Bjarke Ingles, on a new development in Manhattan’s Meat Packing District. Like many of the artists I am inspired by, Devlin, has created a career that is interdisciplinary between music, performing arts and design. Although, I would consider myself a 2D designer, her exploration of kinetic sculptures and lighting is provoking and experimental with using and the lack of using space.
