Step 2: Add Footnotes

Type footnotes into the text. Each footnote is a number in brackets before the ending punctuation mark in the sentence.

Example:

This is my research paper. It is about the Imagine Memorial in Central Park [1].

Step 3: Add your Annotated Bibliography

Type your Annotated Bibliography at the very end of your research paper. Please bold the words “Annotated Bibliography.” Do not list the sources in alphabetical order. Instead, order your sources according to the order in which they appear in your essay. So, for the first footnote [1], write that source first in your Annotated Bibliography.

Example:

Annotated Bibliography

[1] Jones, Bob. “Central Park.” New York City Department of Parks. 12 July 2010. http://www.nyc.gov/parks

Step 4: Hyperlink any Footnotes that lead to URL secondary sources

Highlight your footnote [1]

Open hyperlink function

In the link field, add the URL of the secondary source.

Example:
