Sketchbook Layout
For Project 4: Human Occupancy my sketchbook layout consisted of my ideas to play with light and darkness. This contrast of light and dark was done in my “parallel universe” collage to really move from light to darkness in a more natural, subtle way from left to right. In my sketchbook layout I mostly focused on more natural settings but I decided to move onto making a more dream like state in my collage.
What I was trying to illustrate in my “parallel universe” was the iconic 90’s cartoon aesthetic. I used iconic images from cartoons including Alice in Wonderland and Moomin. I wanted to switch the roles as if the cartoons are watching us and reacting to us as if we are digitalized characters. I also used photoshop effects to make a sort of fuzziness over the background to really create the sense of it being a tv screen.
