Khebar

The integration of various cultures and instruments from Khebar remind me of my struggle to integrate myself into American society as a Korean-American. From a young age I noticed how different I was to my friends even when comparing packed lunches. Every day the norm for a packed lunch was a sandwich or some sort and I would pack Korean food. I found myself envious of the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches brought in a paper brown bag. Now I still struggle to create and insert who I am as a person into my art. I worry if I’m not brining my Korean heritage enough into the work I put out.
