INTERIOR FROM 2 HANDHELD OBJECTS (light and view)

Our work with an observed condition, (assembly of foam), and two occupants (modified hand held design objects) has resulted in

a foundation of geometry and a narrative of the way in which that geometry of void and solid derives from the presence of the

cups. The emphasis to date has been form finding from the “inside” out. Cuts, to remove material, to produce a void and guide

the positioning of the cups, have registered on the exterior boundary of the “site”. The link which a cut produces, one which

moves from inside to outside, now will be taken as a starting point, to open and connect our interior to the outside.

Second phase work will leverage developed geometry, developed narratives, and measured assembly logics completed to date

to address the following two new constraints / needs:

A need to be made from planar materials, with developed connections

A need to introduce apertures which are strategic in two ways:

To calibrate a changing lighting condition on the interior (orientation)

To enable a controlled recording of changing interior conditions (view)
