Lichengyu Ding & Pei Chun Liao

The chair with attractive green surface was found in the flea market. This kind of foldable chair was used most often in 20th cnetury in churches. The chair was made out of wood with dark brown color. We first explored the size of the chair by drawing the orthographic drawings and taking the measurement photographs. For the further exploration, we tried to find the relationship between the chair and human body’s proportion. The reason for this exploration is that we wanted to calculate the chair’s size out of the human body’s size. We took several picture with Ding sitting, lying or standing beside the chair. Then, we combined these pictures in to a video. The outcome was successfull, though we didn’t get the result. However, after this experiment, we decided our concept, which is the similarity of human bossy movement and chair movement.
