Project 1

For the beginning of the project. 3 models of were created. The three models should be suspendable and made from certain materials. I did three models from paper, wire and wood sticks. The paper, which is the most successful, inspired my later works.

 

The idea of turning the 2D object to a 3D space is used in my next step of project. From this model, three drawings of shadow study were created.

Lighting Vessel Study

    The shadow that was created in this project has clean and sharp edges. Through the process of catching the shadow, I found that the concentrate degree of the light has a great influence on the shadow that created by it. The higher concentrate degree the light is, the more sharpen the edge of the shadow. For the next project, I still want to focus on the element of stripe, which I feel really passion with. I also want to add the element of layer by creating the surface in different altitude and depth. The shadow that is created, I hope, will be both clean and misty. The main material of the project will be paper due to its strong figurability. The technique of this project is inspired by the birthday card.
