Personal Book: Aquarius

“Aquarius” is a poem written by my cousin, Suzan Zhu when she is going through a difficult time in her life. This poem felt personal and intriguing in a way that is intangible, yet heartbreaking. It is a poem about memories and letting go of a past. To make this poem and feeling tangible, i created the lingering and vintage mood by using texture that creates a moldy and dirty feeling. Thread and dried flowers creates an effect of time and growing old. The words are fading, which represents that memories are fading. Finally, in the end, she was able to let go of the memories, as indicated by the word “Free” in the very last page.
