Sketch #1
In total, I came up with 3 different ideas for my final project. The first 2 images that you see were my first sketch idea of my project which was creating a documentary. Throughout the pages I wrote out what was going to happen, who I was interviewing, making a mock up of the documentary, creating questions, listing thoughts I had about this idea throughout the pages. But as I was continuing to sketch out the project, I grew to not like it more and more. I became uninterested, so I decided to start over with another idea.
Sketch #2
With this second sketch, I decided to keep with my roots of fine arts. I wanted to create artwork. I wanted a piece of work nothing digital, or a zine, or a poster. So I came up with creating a sculpture. I wanted something that would be different and strange. I kept a lot of the ideas or thoughts that I wrote down in my first sketch of the project. As I tried to develop this idea more and more, I realized that I was getting no where and I couldn’t develop more with the idea of a sculpture, so I scratched this idea and started over.
Sketch #3
With my final sketch, I came up with the idea of creating a taxonomy of tattoos. People don’t realize that quantity of anything can be daunting at first, but eye opening at the same time. I wanted to use taxonomy to show the wide range of tattoo designs and the meaning behind them. Tattoos are art on our body. They bring meaning to us and I wanted to create a wide range of tattoo design about social justices, love, disease and etc.
The image below is writing of what the taxonomy will consist of and the whole concept behind it.
