For this project, I was assigned to write a short research proposal on a specific topic related to the question of the relationship between identity and society. My idea was based on a social smoker and I was able to come up with it by relating, I was one a social smoker as well. The writing process was difficult for me, I found it very hard to argue something that I related too. I would have been able to understand it more if I would have organized my time better.
I didn’t enjoy this assignment because I did not really understand it. I had to leave town due to personal reasons and I was a little confused when I returned so I found it difficult understanding why I was writing a research outline and not just a research essay. My goal was to catch the attention of a social smoker, which we know are a lot of people, I wanted the reader to understand and relate to the topic.
