Discussion on Reading

My favorite reading this semester with Mark has been “Where worlds collide” by Pico Iyer. I found it really interesting because it spoke of people watching which is something that I actually enjoy reading, so I was curious to read what his perspective was on it. I enjoyed how he pieced all the cultures together and why he could distinguish them.

My least favorite was Ian Hacking, “Making up People”. I found this very difficult to read, not only because of the length but also because of the content. He describes different personalitles having a place in society because they are different. It just seemed rather cruel in my opinion.
