Starting to sculpt “Ecstasy”
Starting to sculpt “Ecstasy”
“Cocaine” wording and sketches.
Finalized “Cocaine” sketch
Beginning to sculpt “LSD”
At this point, I have finalized sketches of:
Psilocybin Mushrooms
– Distorted vessel with multiple eyes and exaggerated faces. Filled with soil.
LSD
– Melted bottom with torso, separated arms, round head. Replaceable head with multiple types. Brightly colored.
Ecstasy
– Round piece, sculpted teeth on the bottom, exaggerated smiling face pointing upward with a large bent tongue. Tongue has cut-out shapes where light shines through and creates shapes on whatever surface is above it.
Cigarettes
-Black figure bent over cupping hands to catch the melted wax from a cigarette shaped candle
Alcohol
-Resin piece (clear), Cup on top of flask shape bottle, held together by a spring so the cup moves and spills. Will hold alcohol, most likely a strong smelling one.
Mushroom wording to communicate my sculpture better.
“Mushrooms” re-imagined, final sketch.
“Cocaine” final sketch.
“Marijuana” re-imagined. Work-in-progress sketch.
Finalized “Ecstasy” idea, bottom right. A light piece that will shine a produce shapes on a surface that will surround it.
“Cocaine” word understandings and early sketches.
“Alcohol” re-imagined. A clear (resin) cup on top of a clear flask shape.
Marijuana idea: Smoking pipe in the form of a blob, personifying relaxation and fatigue.
Psilocybin Mushrooms (Shrooms) idea: Signifying a journey
Cocaine idea: Loosely designed, a vibrating brain.
MDMT (Molly) idea: Love, temporary happiness. A light fixture that projects shadows.
Thesis: Personifying emotion and sensations felt on recreational drugs.
Alcohol and cigarette brainstorming
Cigarette idea: Creature holding the melted remains of a ‘cigarette’ (wax candle). Object: Candle Holder
Alcohol idea: Bobble head flask with personified cup on top.
LSD idea: Light sculpture. LED lights inside of the head. Cigarette sculpture sketches
Thesis Ideas:
2. Personifying Drugs in the from of my personal style of creatures and turning those into objects.
3. Examining Form v Function and making forms that reflect one, the other, and both.
