Tags are a means of linking, aggregating and presenting related content in your portfolio. Your learning portfolio comes pre-populated with over 30 tags for you to use, but you can create new ones at any time. Log into the Dashboard of your learning portfolio to see the full list of categories and tags. You will find both under the Posts tab.

Whenever you upload an artifact, be sure to add relevant tags that link it both to the specific course that it relates to, and to other artifacts that share a common theme or focus. For example, you may decide to include a video of a lesson from your Practicum that teaches a specific area of language (such as pronunciation) that is also the focus of an uploaded assignment from your Language Analysis course AND part of a needs analysis assignment from Curriculum Design. By tagging each as Pronunciation, you ensure that all three artifacts can be displayed together whenever that tag is clicked on.

You can also use the Categories menu to identify the kind of artifact it is, whether a lesson plan, a discussion post, a course assignment, a video of a lesson, and so on. You can create your own categories, too.
