1.Summary of partner’s idea for Bridge 4:
My partner, Weijia is making a hat as her major is fashion design, which is linked to the Brooklyn Bridge where the Love Locks are. She made her hat functional rather than visual as the original bridge. Also, she doesn’t like the idea of love locks, which is portrayed on her work through out the hat.
2. Summary of challenges your partner is having:
She isn’t sure whether to add more materials or objects on her hat to show the presence of the locks. Because she wants the hat to be functional, it is hard for her to decide at the moment.
3. How does the material relate to his/her ideas?
Normally when we wear hats, they become a part of our bodies and Weijia thinks that the body is the Brooklyn Bridge for the work she is creating. As the hat covers our head and the length is longer than usual hats, she is giving us the sense of “too much” as the locks on the Brooklyn Bridge.
4. Interviewer’s opinion of the Rough Draft so far (what works? what needs more work?):
I think that Weijia well portrayed the hat as the locks on the bridge. However, it might be better if she added more objects to demonstrate the large amount of locks on the bridge.
