Drawing as Imaging – Perspective

We began our study of perspective by doing one and two point perspective drawings around the school. I drew one of the hallways in the school, and a view out of a window of the street to practice my technique.

Next we took a field trip to the New York Public Library building to further explore perspective in a bigger space. First we did a simple line perspective drawing just to get a feel for the space, then we did a more detailed tonal drawing.

Finally, we used images of the library to create digital illustrations in photoshop. We first completed a black and white composition, then added color using palettes of harmonious colors.
