Reflections on Final Draft

Overall I am fairly happy with my final draft. It’s not perfect, but I am proud of it. One of the things I like the most about the paper is how much I was able to condense my argument. I was very worried when starting my paper that it would end up too long and rambly since there are so many different controversies involving subway ads. I had to work hard to select certain issues to focus on, and weave them into one central argument. I think if I had more time, I would have revised the part of my paper in which I explain the effects of advertising. I think more research and statistics about advertisements effect on health could have made my argument stronger. As a whole, I feel that my writing process worked well when developing this paper. I spent a lot of time planning my argument and researching, and I think in the end this really paid off. I think it allowed me to write the actual paper more quickly and it lead to a more organized and complete result. If I was going to start the writing process again, I would think about spending more time on the editing process, and getting more peer feedback. While I did spend time editing my paper, I think more time could have made the argument even stronger. Getting feedback from more people would also have helped, since the best way to tell if my argument is effective is through testing it on readers. Overall, I am very happy with this paper and this writing experience.
