  • A brief explanation about what you completed on your final project during the week between classes.

After last time I talk to my instructor, I decided to challenge myself in this final project. Instead of contacting the third-parties to print the wallpaper for me, I chose to print my own wallpaper by using Lino Printing technique, even though it takes longer time to complete and a higher risk that probably not coming as what I expected.

  • Did your project change and go in a new direction? If so what direction did it go in?

I chose to use the new way to print my wallpaper which is Lino Printing Technique.

  • Did something fail or not work and require you to try something different? If so, what happened? What did you need to do to overcome the challenge?

There was only one color picking failure during the whole process. I was thinking to use black and white as my main wallpaper color, and I did print one black and whit version on my regular paper, it worked, but failed on my chosen wallpaper which brought from Blick. White is not working on beige because they are all shallow color and there is no way that people can see the detail of the pattern.

  • What new research have you done since our April 30th class?

I looked some of the Lino Carving tutorials on Youtube and I think the first time carving experience went pretty great.

  • What, if any, new research will you be doing to complete your project by our final class, 14 May? (This includes materials you are researching, artists you are researching, etc.)

I think I will do more research on some interesting historical background of Victorian era, not just about wallpaper, probably some weird and creepy customs from the old Victorian time, to get to know more about the splendent time period, the people and the culture.

  • Continued Time Estimate: write an explanation of what you will complete for next class and write how long you think it will take you to do it.

I think I will read the peer feedback sheet again and try to summarize the advices and see what I could do to improve in my future projects, but I think I will not change my final project by this time and I hope I can spend more time on preparing my final presentation on next Monday.
