A natural environment

I am attracted to and interested by nature and organic forms. From this collection of photographs taken one can notice that they all have a nature made subject or aspect to them. From the many photographs I took for this assignment I chose very specific ones. For a first there is a consistency of light, more specifically natural light, in all the images. Light either being used to bring out the qualities of a subject or light as the subject of the image. For example in the sixth image light aids in bringing out the natural qualities of the flowers on the grass, where in the eleventh photograph of the sunset, light is the main subject of the image. One can also notice that the constant subject of the sixteen images is that of the organic or natural. All the subjects in the images are organic-inspired or directly from nature. I am fascinated by nature. Nature to me is my biggest inspiration and the processes and qualities of nature are what interest me the most. For example the image of the coffee (being a natural substance though manipulated  by man), to the building which looks like a skeleton, to the tree trunk, the jungle and the ants carrying leaves.

Out of the sixteen images I posted six images have plants as the main focus. This is because plants are my inspiration. In these images of plants I try to focus on the natural shape and forms of the plants. One can see this in the photograph of the leaves as I tried to capture the shape and texture of the leaves. I posted an image of the sky, of clouds specifically as circular shapes are a big inspiration for me when creating work. I naturally tend to work with circular shapes and therefore the round softness of clouds are fascinating to me. Right before the image of the clouds I placed the image of the tree trunk. I did this to create contrast for the viewer: from the hard and sturdiness of a tree trunk to the lightness and softness of clouds.
