The project #1 was inspired by the basic water filter bottles’ structure. Usually, they have three steps of filtering water. The first one is Primary Filtration: it cleans water from worms, particles, weeds, plant roots, algae, and leaves. The first step is consisted of Antibacterial Activated Carbon with Silver Ions. As water passes through this part of the water filter bottle, some of the bad articles remain on the carbon surface. The Second step is Negative pressure: It cleans water from heavy metals, salmonella, and micro-organisms. The Third and last step is Nature Diatomite Ceramic Filter, FCO4-01: it cleans water form bacteria, algae, and spores.
As an inspiration for my project #1, I remembered when I lived in Switzerland. I spend a year there, and I lived on the mountain, in little town Leysin. It is very close to Lausanne, and Montre. This area is very famous for its location, great views, and very clean water. There are contains with drinkable water all over the town, and you can just come with the bottle and fill it. It tastes great, and it is very refreshing, for it comes right from the mountains’ rivers. The water int he rivers is absolutely drinkable and minimum polluted.
There are seasons when a lot of tourists come hiking in the mountains in Leysin. Nobody really brings any water with them, for they know that water in the mountains is very clean. But, still there can be some worms, and other little particles in it. Because of that, I decided to create a little filter system that tourists can put in their bottles. It fits perfectly, and has the first level of filtration. Water in Leysin is already very clean, so I thought, that the first level will be enough. It is the same as in regular water filter bottles, which means that my filter has the same Antibacterial Activated Carbon in its structure. It works perfectly, and very easy to transport. It needs to be changed every month, for the size of it is very small. From now on, tourists can be sure that their water in Leysin will be clan from plant roots, worms, algae, and other natural particles. They can freely buy the filter in near Hefti Sports store.
