This was an assignment for a class called 3D modeling techniques. We were learning the process of how to create an intricate shape out of plaster. The assignment was to create a vessel of any sort inspired by nature. I chose to make a vase inspired by a picture I took of a blooming flower. The process began with creating our shapes out of metal wire, then filling in the shape with wire mesh to give the vessel walls. The wire mesh vessel was then covered in plaster, and then sanded down to be smooth. The “petals” of my vessel were not particularly easy to cover in plaster and sand because of the tight spaces created.
