Deep Travel Final Project – 7/18

For this project, I decided to photograph a baseball cap. I thought this would be a good object because though it is fairly straight forward, there are several deeper meanings to it; there are also many reasons why someone might wear and hat and where they decide to put it on. As I explored more of these meanings I realized how simple, yet versatile it truly can be. I initially chose this hat as my object because I saw it as something one can use to hide or blend into a certain scene. I tried to show that through my pictures, especially through the photo with the makeup on the inside of the hat, but it wasn’t as apparent as I thought it was going to be. During the critique, I also realized how many different ways my pictures could be perceived which gave me more insight into how I could have made my photo choices more clear, or developed a better and more concise theme.
