Statement:

For this assignment, we had to choose 4 to 7 images and use two of our hand drawings from class to create a narrative collage in Photoshop. Before choosing my pictures, I knew I wanted my collage to be sort of a cultural collage that would reflect the Central American culture with its colors and use of Mayan fabrics. This is why, I decided to use the images of the designs bellow. These images are images from designs I made for my Parsons Portfolio using Mayan and local fabrics from El Salvador. I also used an image of a market in Antigua Guatemala for the background.

For my banana drawing, I used primary colored pencils and added cross hatching to add texture to the drawing. For my hand drawing, I used water colors and also only primary colors. This drawing turned out to be more organic, I let the water colors dry naturally. I am very happy with how both of my drawings turned out and also how my psd montage turned out.
