I choose TED Radio Hour, “The Source of Creativity”
I choose this podcast due to its popularity rating on iTunes and that it was a TED Radio Hour podcast. From my experience TED produces interesting and informative material that I can enjoy. So I decided it was best to choose something that I could very likely enjoy. I choose this specific podcast because it was highly rated in popularity on iTunes which would suggest that the vast majority enjoyed it and that likely I could as well.
In this podcast an interesting point was made by musician Sting. He said that when faced with a lack of creativity it is best to go back to your home. To see where you grew up and let it inspire you. I found this an interesting idea that I felt I could relate to the inspiration of home.
Another striking part of the podcast was the story of Gillian Lynne. In the 1930’s her mother took her to the doctor to see what was wrong with her daughter. Young Gillian was very active and had short attention, when left alone in the doctors office she began dancing around the room. The doctor told her mother to enroll her in dance class. Now she is an acclaimed dancer and choreographer.
