“At 9/11 Memorial, Remembering Those Lost” – New York Times
This article focuses on the memorial that happened on 9/11 this year at the 9/11 memorial in downtown Manhattan, NYC. The tone of the article itself is somber, there is an air of sadness.
The article’s articulation is clean, and it ends by recounting one man’s call to politicians’ to stop using 9/11 as “props” in their “political theater.” I wonder how this article would have felt to readers if there were not an implicit call to action, or issue making this topic feel more current.

The main subjects of of this article feel scattered, but seem to run along a similar thread. They all relate to questioning the US’s response to 9/11. One of the biggest points that stuck with me was the fact that the United States continues to remain in conflict in the middle east in the same ways that caused 9/11.
