I had a few ideas for my instrument. After a little bit I figured the simplest option is the best, so I went with a kind of maraca. My shaker was an old pill bottle I filled with rice. To record my instrument, I went into the bathroom because it was most quiet in there. I recorded a variety of sounds, shaking the shaker in different patterns, with varying levels of vigor, and at different frequencies.
