Learning Portfolio Benefits

The learning portfolio is a place to collect and reflect on the work you do at The New School (and the processes behind the finished product), and share your work with your instructors, and others, if you choose to do so.

As your learning portfolio develops, you’ll be able to consider your many learning experiences holistically, see your growth over your time here. It’s a tool to help you determine how you want to tell the story of your time at The New School (and beyond).

You will use your learning portfolio in a number of ways:

  • Saving and organizing your work throughout the development and final versions of papers and projects
  • Reflecting on your progress and performance
  • Discovering consistencies and connections across your varied experiences–both in- and out-of-the-classroom, including coursework, employment, and co-curricular activities
  • Sharing your work with peers (if you choose to do so) and instructors to help them understand and support your educational experiences and serve as a basis for collaboration and feedback from others
