Time- Metropolis: Still To Moving

I’m from a big city but no city can ever be as big as New York city. When I landed in New York and took my first step outside the airport, everything seemed normal. My surroundings were ordinary. I felt like I was still at home. I got into a yellow taxi and asked the driver to take me to my hotel. After we made it through all the traffic a dreadful forty five minutes later, we were on a highway. The driver pointed towards my window and said “Quick! Look!”. The view outside my window wasn’t just tall concrete walls and more cars anymore. My view was New York city. I could see almost the entire skyline of the city. I felt so small yet so elevated, liberated rather. I felt like a free butterfly batting its infinitesimal wings in the air. I felt so connected to the city. Its amazing how one can feel so much in such a short span of time. We crossed the highway in three minutes, but it felt like the time had stopped.
