Our society can get a lot of benefit from Camouflage

Camouflage means that “all strategies involved in concealment, including prevention of detection and recognition.” Camouflage is really useful not only in the military but also in our daily life. In natural animals hide them self to avoid hunting. this model can perfectly be used in the military. By wearing special clothes which similar to the surrounding, soldiers can “despair”. It is a very useful strategy to avoid the enemy’s eyes. This method is used from ancient time.

Camouflage is also applied in medicine. ” According to the British Association of Dermatologists, 15% of the population per year will be seeking help from their general practitioner for a skin condition, and most patients will have their skin disorder diagnosed and treated in primary care.” In this case, skin camouflage can be used that make the scar unseeable. It is pretty useful for the patients to have better condition of the skin.

Someone said that thieves will use camouflage to steal. However, I think camouflage is not excessed, stealing also will also happen in our daily life. They can find out another way to steal. In this case, a good education of children is a more effective way to decrease thief. Moreover, since the technology is improved, although thieves use camouflage to steal something. The police can use a lot of methods such as though the fingerprint.

The piece from Brooklyn Museum:

Expannation:

In this work, put a lot of little species together to make the three-dimensional texture. Although The Blue Circle is in three dimensional, it is flat. However, the colour makes the hole seems like, have depth. In this case, when the audience stands in front of the work, the blue circle looks like a whole. However, when the audience turns to change his view angle from the front to the side, they can find out that actually, it is a blue circle. To see the whole art piece, the colour of the background is from light to dark, and the three blue circles are in opposite directions. It makes a high contrast between two colours, I think it can make those three circles or obvious. The name of the collection is aggregation. Aggregation is put separate part together. And his work is made from the old Korean books. It is a form translate 2D to 3D. In this case, what we see is not the truth, we need to identify an object or event from different prespectives.

My work:

Base on the idea that we need to know events from different perspectives, I choose photos from The Pioneering Image which contain 150 years of American Photography. In this book, the editor said: “Photography began as a technology that recorded visual realities as they are perceived through a lens, but quickly moved away from this basic function into sophisticated areas of art and expression.” In other words, Photography is not only a way to record our daily life, but also a method to express photographers’ own ideas and perspectives. I think this idea has really closely connected with this project. So I sewing a bunch of photos together to make a dress. So in this dress, It contains photographers idea and their thought of the world.

I chose this background is because it is clean and have very vivid color and my own work is only contain black and white. If I choose also black and white background, my photo will become too boring that can not catch audience eyes. Moreover, the style of my work is very cool it also match the style of background.

Sem2_Bridge1_Poem

In this project, I want to encourage people to find out the thing in our daily life. By finding happiness, it will have our life happen. so at the beginning of my poem. I begin with Kosmos which is a very broad perspective which people usually focus on. Then I gently bring the poem into our daily life to lead the reader to follow my step. Moreover, for me, I think for me the fabric is very warm and let me feel safe. In this case, I use it as an example to encourage people to follow my step. I mentioned in the poem, purple and yellow. My poem is about life, I want people to find out their happiness from their daily life, to feel the warmth from daily life.

Studio 2 Truth_Bridge 1_Loom

In the beginning, I am very afraid to destroy the frame. But the process of Stapling nails is successful. I pretty enjoy the experience of creating my own loom. When I am in class, I found out that it was hard for me to loom ribbon on scratch without any tools. In this case, I got a needle from blick. It is an efficient way. I use caddice and yarn to create my own loom. I think there is a really good combination between them. Caddice is intensive, but the yarn is loose. It is a contrast between them. In my poem, I mentioned” broadcloth, gingham, and Chandra”  which is a type of fabric. For me, they give me a warm feeling. In this case, I choose yarn which has the same feeling for me. The loom includes the colour that I mentioned in the poem, purple and yellow. My poem is about life, I want people to find out their happiness from their daily life, to feel the warmth from daily life. Some I create this loom.
