For this assignment, we are asked to find and transform a book.
I can either make something from a book or parts of it
OR de-construct, add to or extend the book
OR totally change it into something else
OR use just parts of it
OR use its’ subject/title/layout as inspiration for something else entirely
Process
At first, I wanted to use charcoal to create the background of my work, because I think charcoal could give the cloud and the sky a romantic sense. However, I gave up using charcoal for two reasons. First, I want to make the background colorful, rather than only black and white. Second, I found out that when I want to glue the pages onto the charcoal surface by using scotch tape, it is easy to get dirty and messy. So I changed to acrylic paints. I want to paint dreamy clouds and sky background so I searched for tutorial online. Here is the tutorial that I found, which is very interesting and helpful, since the person used sponge to paint, but not brushes.
