Final Project

For the final project, I want to create a series of 4 abstract mood boards by acrylic paints to represent my emotional stages during my first year in New York City. I painted on 8 inch * 8 inch board.

In stage 1, I felt passionate because everything is new in New York city. I love to explore around the city. So I use red and yellow to interpret novelty, freshness and enthusiasm.

In stage 2, my passion started to fade out, and I did not feel as energized as how I felt in stage 1. So I use light pink, which is less obvious than red, to interpret the process of the disappearing passion.

In stage 3, I gradually felt sad, insecure and lonely, so I use light blue and ultramarine to interpret  the transition of my sadness.

In stage 4, finally I felt peaceful when the first year is about to end. I thought about a lot of things during the first year. Moreover, I learnt a lot of new things and I felt much more confident about the next three years. So I use green color to represent trees figure and a mood of nature, peace.
