Final Project Reflection Post

For my second iteration, I had focused on creating a blog that documented my experiences with upcycling, and including people at the new school. For my final iteration, I wanted to create something that would tangible to people, that would be easy to read and not a hassle. I came up with the idea of making a informative brochure, which gives a short summary of what, thrift, consignment, and vintage are and how they differ. The brochure includes a list of secondhand clothing stores in the new york city area. In addition to the brochure, I also decided to remake my website using a different program. I wanted my website to have a more professional appearance with more room for informative information. I included summary of thrift, consignment, vintage, and overall summary of secondhand clothing. I also included a summary of upcycling, my bio, and my contact information. In my brochure, I included a link to the website. For my final attempt to engage the community, I wanted to propose the idea of student-run secondhand thrift store to career services at the new school, as a possible work study program. If a school as fashionable as the new school had a student-run thrift store, I think that people would be more likely to become part of the second-hand community, and potentially be more aware and interested in the concept of sustainable fashion. If I were to make a fourth iteration, I would focus on the construction and name of the student-run thrift storeĀ  and the planning that would go into it. During my presentation, I highlighted what ideas I started with and how I gradually got the current position I am in. By doing my project, I hoped to be bring more popularity and awareness to the sustainable fashion community, and hopefully relieve some of these common and often mislead stereotypes.
