This is a link to the entire process of the thought flow behind the makings of the Haight Ashbury exhibition of prosthetics. This shows the literal process step by step and allows me to look back and see the complete movement of my personal thinking through this project. I cannot think of a better way to show a personal process than to present this building of my own ideas.
I chose to show reflection through the photo essay I made of Dani. The photo essay itself is a reflection on the actual exchange I shared with Dani. I went into this encounter with many expectations about how the conversation would go based on the Studio assignment and the ideas already circulating my head about the Beauty Myth – I had even planned how I would photograph her in order to make an aesthetically pleasing final Photo Essay. But the outcome and photographs of this exchange went nothing like I had imagined. The final photo essay is a personal reflection of this exchange, the outcome of which I discovered I could never preconceive. There were many essays that I could’ve chosen to post as reflection to show the before and after thoughts, but I truly feel my final photo essay is a reflection of my approach to an assignment and how, in the end, I was proven wrong about my expectations.
