A short write up of the game Poker
Poker is a very classical game that most people have come across, someway or the other. There are a lot of ways to play poker, ranging from the classical game of poker to using the cards as a way to play memory games. Usually, poker involves gambling, let it be poker chips or real money.
A lot of the game types in poker involves gambling and betting, usually corresponding to the cards the players get. Generally, Ace is considered to be of highest value amongst the deck of cards, and sometimes holds the ability to vary according the situation, though in some cases 2 is considered to be the strongest card in a game. However, if the two jokers are included, they are usually the most valued card, with the big joker coming first followed by the smaller joker. The rest of the cards go from the most valuable to the least valuable in this order (generally): King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3.
Next comes the patterns on the cards. Sometimes the Spade, Diamond, Club and Heart are also included in the game to further increase the challenge. As of which pattern is more valuable than which depends on the game, but in most games I played the Spade is considered to be the strongest amongst the four. The sequence found within the deck of cards the player owns also has an impact on most of the games. Sequences such as pair, three of a kind, four of a kind… all contributes to the winning or losing of a game. In most cases, pair is the least valuable sequence one can achieve, then comes the three of a kind, straight (a sequence of card, usually 5, that comes right after the other, e.g. 9, 10, J, Q, K), flush (cards with the same pattern, usually 5 of them), full house (three of a kind paired with a pair), four of a kind, and straight flush (straight with the same pattern).
Poker is a game I enjoy a lot, as I find it suitable to play with almost all range group depending on the type of game you play with poker. It requires people to think and take risk, and its versatility allows for a variety of gaming styles. Another thing I like about poker is that people can easily adjust or create new rules to suit their game play, further allowing a vast versions of the game.
