Blog post on physical activity played
During the weekend I played basketball with my friends, it wasn’t a super formal basketball play but we did follow most of the basic rules. Due to the space restriction we only used half court and one basketball hoop. Members were split into two groups randomly, each of the team had different tactics but since it was only half court, we used the man-to-man defense tactic (Each player marks another player).
In order to score a point player must dribble/pass the ball out of the three point line and shoot it into the basket for the point to count. Both sides must do this when the ball’s possession is changed. When a team scores a point, the ball will have to be “checked.” The basketball is passed to the opponent and then passed back to the team that previously scored the point, then the game starts. Other basic rules also applied in our game includes taking more than two steps without bouncing the ball (traveling). A player is also not allowed to dribble the ball and stop dribbling, then dribble again (double dribble). Players are also not encouraged to have any physical contacts with the opponents, as most likely it will be count as a foul.
I am not a very sporty person but I do enjoy basketball a lot, mostly because of the teamwork within the game. It requires the players to focus not only on own’s own basketball skills, but to also observe others, and decide what is best for the situation. Nothing is ever the same in basketball, new game, new problems, and new solutions. There never a time were you repeat a game entirely like the last game, every new game is a fun and exciting one. Basketball is a sport combining many aspect, which is why I think it makes such an interesting game.
