Studio bridge 4 – Connections: Designing Identity
For the bridge 4 project of my studio, we had to take a commercial and change it so that it conveys a different meaning. Here I tried out various different combinations and commercials and finally settled with McDonald’s ad for chicken burger.
I decided to create a cage around the chicken using the same pattern, indicating that what you see is not always what it seems; I also altered the way ‘i’m lovin’ it’ is delivered by adding ‘…?’ towards the end to make it more questionable and doubtful.
This is the 2nd part of the project where we have to develop the previous idea using a different media. I chose to use water colour because it is a rather beautiful media, but the message I want to convey is of a negative meaning, so this creates a juxtaposition between what you see and what it actually is – just like the meaning behind the first part of the project I did.
