This pace tattoo is a prototype I created for a 2 week project surrounding the topic of nudging. I wanted to explore the possibilities of temptation bundling through a temporary tattoo that only appears when one’s heart rate reaches a certain threshold for a certain period of time, meaning that the user would have to be actively engaged in an exercising activity to have the tattoo showing.
The prototype showed below uses a photoresistor as a sensor to simulate one’s heart beat – the longer it is left uncovered the longer the ‘user’ is under exercise and hence a high heart rate, leading to a longer tattoo visibility.
My next steps would be to research a material that is suitable to convey my idea and to make a physical prototype that would look nice even with all the technological parts.
