Mask #1: Gentle Cat
We were given around 2 hours to create a mask without drafting and over thinking much. I started playing around with the shape of the mask first — folding and cutting and it eventually turned into a cat looking shape. I then decided to add strips taken from a page from a book. After pasting on the ears and strips around the eyes, i figure that the mask wasn’t interesting enough, and decided to add another 3 pages of book covering half of the mask and some decors on top.
In this workshop I realise that inspirations come almost intuitively and unexpectedly — you never know what you will be creating until you actually cut things out, paste things and fiddle around.
