IFS: Fashion and the Body

Fashion and design has been a concern for many people in the community. The fashion presented above, indicates an interdependence awareness of the body and the nature of the fashion. In such relationship, people might be in unconscious experience of how they perceive their body outlook in a particular dress. In this case, coloration of the clothing indicates that the individual needs to match the body color with that of the body. It appears that the customer identifies in the society with much body cover-up which is indicated by long dress and a trench coat. Also, she is interested in a fashion that portrays an image of a woman. That is the reason she does not emulate buggy sweats but have a dress that implies a woman view even before wearing. Besides, having a woman image, the dress is close fitting. For that reason, fashion has an internally presentation to oneself as well as physical identity to others.

Fashion has been evolving since the historical periods. People need a presentation that fits the modern society. However, some people have an inherent interest that desires to have fashioned in the “olden days” thus feeling comfortable in the old fashions. Concerning the diagram above, the customer seems interested in a fashion that prepares the body for a modern social construct (Twigg, 1). From a closer point of view, fashion serves a great role in presenting the body to a particular cultural identity. In this case, the fashion is presenting the body to the public of a township or urban culture.
