Map and Window

PPT Final Yangzhen-vg28tb

My final project combined paradigms of representation: the map and the window. They represent the story of Medusa, an intricate calculus of hatred for the whole world.

Medusa’s story:

-In Greek mythology, Medusa is a monster, usually described as a winged human female, with a living Viper instead of hair.

-She was originally a ravishingly beautiful maiden, “the jealous aspiration of many suitors,” but because Poseidon had raped her in Athena’s temple, the enraged Athena transformed Medusa’s beautiful hair to serpents and made her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn onlookers to stone.

-Medusa was the only one of the three Gorgons who was mortal, so Perseus was instructed by Athena and Hermes to cut off her head and kill her.

Medusa was one of the most impressive Greek mythologists for me because of her strong and special image. When I first saw her in a film, I thought her snake hair was so scary, but I just couldn’t help myself to see more.
