LP6: Fabric in Fashion at the Museum @ FIT

The FIT Museum’s exhibition is a great celebration of the FIT Museum exhibition: FIT Museum 50 years, FIT Museum was founded in 1969, was the name of FIT design laboratory and gallery, the FIT Museum has held more than 200 fashion shows in the past 50 years, each The exhibitions are all very different from each other.

The most exciting theme of the exhibition is the fairy tale exhibition held in 2016. From the fairy tale exhibition, there is a Comme des Garcons red Robin Hood inspired ensemble, from the spring/summer 2015 series, which is amazing. I remember seeing it at the Vogue fashion show, I was completely fascinated by this piece. The whole series, Comme des Garcons, is a dark and twisted fairy tale in the spring and summer of 2015. The key word for this series is James. A revenge game of the world, roses and blood. The way to show this piece is a mannequin with arms open, and I even got a sign of liberation from the posture, almost releasing her power. It reminds me of the last scene when Carrie released her power.

The mannequin next to the Comme des Garcons show is a red cloak, made in England from the end of the 18th century. Comparing these two parts is almost like seeing how fashion becomes a translation tool, and designers get inspiration from ordinary objects and turn them into art.
