Class: Integrative Studio 2

Assignment: Create a journal entry of a personally taken photo and reflect how this everyday interaction relates to an issue on a more global scale.

In my Soft Structures class, I was challenged to find other solutions to fasten paper without the use of harmful adhesives that are not sustainable objects or are dangerous in their manufacturing process. Glue is such a useful item that I overlooked what a true sustainable material was, such as staples being recyclable. I have learned that some glues with biodegrade, but the toxins in most glues are dangerous to human health and air quality. With glue being such a common object used for everyday tasks, it can affect many who use it and the environment. My class has encouraged me to look for more sustainable solutions to advert the use of glue or any other material that can be harmful.
