UN and Final Projects works-in-progress

1)What did you think of your visit to the UN? Which speaker did you find the most inspiring and why? What did you learn? What did it feel like to be inside the UN to hear these conversations?

I think the experience itself is unique and inspiring just by attending the event and listening to the voice from Denmark to see what is happening there for taking care of the environment and global warming issues. I was quite impressed by the fish-skin fabric. I heard it’s from Atlantic and before they made the skin into leather, it was total trash and wasted. Since Gucci and LV announce they will ban the real animal leather, I think the fish-skin leather or the one we are experimenting now of growing leather can be a good solution for that. The leather is quite a topic currently in the fashion industry; people start to consider it, not only because the cruel way people kill those animals, but also the inhumane process of dying those leathers. However, using the synthetic leather can create even more pollution by thinking of the water system and the resources. Some people also suggest we should ban all the leather material using and try to be a vegetarian both for the planet and for ourselves. In my opinion, I respect and appreciate all the efforts and solutions we have now, but the real way to balance the ecosystem and live in harmony surroundings is not to separate people from nature but to get more good and healthy interaction with nature.

I was shocked when I heard they firmly disagree with Trump’s view on environmental issues, in a good way. Because I see all the determination and movements, people are having now. And beyond the lifestyle and politics, people also talk about the education. I feel quite touched by this for literally considering protecting our planet as our next future.
