Reverie – Experiments

Below is a film I created earlier this year titled Reverie. During a workshop called Post Fashion – The Impact of the Internet on Design Practice conducted over Summer 2020 by Parsons Professor Marie Genevieve Cyr, I experimented with reworking this piece in different forms. Following are these experiments.

Reverie is an extension of my exploration of dream imagery in reality, and my intention in making this film was to portray the act of viewing reality as a dream or fantasy. The film consists of a recording I took of an eye acting as a ‘window to the soul’ by conveying the emotions associated with experiencing an altered version of reality, over which I overlaid energetic, momentary animations to visualise the ethereal and chimeric quality of the experience.
