Space and Materiality Assignment #13: Foam 3D Structure

This assignment was to have us make an abstract 3D structure out of a foam core board. It was difficult to cut the foam precisely for the thickness I had to work with. I played off of the idea of the shape of DNA helixes. By cutting each half inch rectangle and layering them on top on one another, I was able to create the effect by decreasing the size of each rectangle by .25 of an inch. To connect them, I used black string around and inside of the foam board.
