Name Tag and Trip to Ruben Museum

My very first creation at Parsons!

We began class by making name tags that became increasingly abstracted with each iteration. The abstracted name tags emphasize pronunciation and identity association. As a class, we then interpreted each other’s name tags and assigned them adjectives. My classmates wrote “chill,” “water-like,” and “fierce” for mine. I agreed with chill and fierce to an extent, but I cannot relate to being water-like, as I see myself as rigid and even stubborn.

We then had a chance to visit the Rubin Museum in order to get inspiration for our upcoming Memory Mandala projects.

This is not a mandala … or is it? Where’s the square?

This a fun figure we found at the Rubin

And finally, a rather grotesque one!
