I spotted and collected 20 images of the faces, animals, letter forms, numbers, geometric shapes, etc. that are created by wear, repair, time, decay, spillage, breakage, update, replacement, light, shadow, rain or snow. Some of these things only revealed themselves when I looked at them sideways, upside down or in reverse. I then pasted them into my sketchbook and labeled them with my association for each image.

Reflection:
This Observation assignment made me question the relationship between visual-minded people. As I was taking these pictures, I was concerned with whether or not my professor and peers would engage with these photos to the extent that I do, if at all. Will they see the same imagery – the same faces, objects, letters? We are all designers, so I expect that all of us would find it easy to pick out some sort of association from any image. However, I am not sure whether the association made by my professor and peers will be the same as the one I intended when taking the photo. During class, I am eager to hear what others see in my photos.
