Assignment:
We were to make a cube of about 5″ x 5″ of different pieces. The pieces were supposed to interlock so that the final assembled piece is modular, and each piece was supposed to be a mass.

Reflection:
In this project, I learned how to create masses from various types of materials. I used 3 layers of MDF composite material to make one of my masses, a piece of hardwood for another mass, layers of thin cardboard for another mass, and clay for the last. I think it was fun to experiment with these different materials and see how their properties change from a planar to a linear material. I also enjoyed using clay, as I have not used it for many years. I forgot how long it takes to air dry though, and was surprised to fine that the piece was not bone dray even after leaving it out overnight. I also enjoyed learning about interlocking the pieces, which leads to a modular final piece.
