Blockchain for Graduates | Day 3 | 5 in 5

Blockchain for Graduates

5 in 5 | Major Studio 1 | MFADT

My 5 in 5 project involves explaining Blockchain to 5 different age groups, based on their level of understanding, and using the media they understand the most. Blockchain for graduates is the third project from this 5 part series of explaining blockchain.

The target audience for this project (context) is graduates and early professionals (age group 20-35).

In this project, I have gone completely technical and explained blockchain. The idea is that graduates can understand the technical nuances of the technology and appreciate the work that went into creating this technology.

Since this is a technical topic, I have given this project the shape of a Digital Notebook.

The Process

This entire project was completed within 24 hours. Here is the process I followed:

  1. Select the topic: Blockchain
  2. Break the topic down in terms of the deliverables
  3. Research the technical details of the blockchain
  4. Create a digital notebook explaining the concept of blockchain to graduates
  5. Document the entire process and the research done on the project

Here is my project brainstorming video:

SCOPE
I have not explained the applications of the blockchain, which would be a part of my next project. This project covers the entire technical explanation of blockchain.

The idea from conceptualization to finalization took a series of steps. Since this is the third part of my five-part series of blockchain explanation, here are some images of the initial bits of brainstorming I had done on this project, to give it this shape. Note that some of the images reflect the work done on other age groups since I had to divide what part of the topic I wanted to cover for the graduates.

References:

The research was primary for this project, and I spent 80% of the day on research and documentation. Blockchain as a concept has a lot of technicalities attached to it. My primary reference for this project was a video by the 3Blue1Brown channel on YouTube, where they explain the concept of cryptocurrency. All the references I have used and what I have learned from them are present in the PDF document attached to this post.

Special thanks to Mohini Dutta (MS1 faculty) who really helped me understand the assignment objective.
