Time Archive “Fruit”

This is the set of 36 photos. I was interested in choosing a very simple story. I knew that most people would go out and take pictures of the city. I thought this would be a good opportunity to tell a detailed story. The repetition is something I have never worked with before.

There were multiple ways of arranging these photos. I had to order them in their decay sequence. I had to decide whether to go every other one, or show the apple first, or the orange first. I decided to go with every other one. It was fun seeing my photos printed and on a long line.

This is my final book. I changed the order to having the orange first. The cover says “orange you glad to see me” and the back says “appley ever after”. I chose to have black cover to go with the photos inside. I wanted to keep it clean and simple.

Reading Response:

“Understanding Comics” helped me realize the importance of sequence. Unlike comics, we didn’t have the opportunity to play with sizes, so we had to be aware of our story on a page to page layout. Learning about different genres in relation to style will be helpful when planning a video.
